Carveco Release Notes

Here at Carveco, we take the Continuous Delivery approach to software development. This means that we aim to develop and release regular updates, enhancements, new features and bug fixes as soon as they’re tested and ready – for every Carveco product.

Carveco V1.56 – Release Notes

NEW

We have made it even easier to visualise your designs:

  1. Choose from 100 + new materials: We’ve updated our materials library to provide more materials of higher quality. In fact, this release contains over 100 new materials to help you and your customers visualise how your final piece will look once machined. So that you can easily find the material you are looking for, all new materials are grouped in categories such as wood, metal, chocolate, stone, plastic, composites and more. (All Variants)
  2. Select your material faster: Simply click on the simulation material in the dropdown to see how it will look on your design. You no-longer need to press the “Apply” button to visualise your piece. (All Variants)

3. Create materials from more file types: If you would like to see how your design would look in a particular material not available in the materials library, we have made it even easier to add it. Carveco users can now create new materials from PNG and JPG files as well as Tiff files. These new formats are also smaller in size making them even easier to share your materials with other Carveco users. (Carveco only)

Enhancements

Simplified Tool Database Management: (All Variants)

    • Effortlessly move a tool/ tool group: The list of tools within the tool database will automatically scroll with your mouse cursor making it much easier to move and reorganise your tools.
    • Obtain manufacturer tools quicker: Rather than waiting for a software release to access the latest tools from your manufacturer, these can be downloaded directly from our support page: How can I add a tool library to the Tool Database in my Carveco software? . The Tool database dialog will now only show the default tools within Carveco as well as link to “Get more tools”.

Find learning materials quickly: The “Getting Started” section of the software’s help page takes you to Carveco Training & Tutorials (carv.eco/learn); the home to all our software tutorials. (All Variants).

How do i download software updates?

From Carveco 1.16 onwards (all products) we added the ability for the software to notify users of any updates that become available. Please click the link from the start page of your software to download any new releases.

Alternatively, any previous Carveco emails that contain a software download link – for example a previous update notification – will automatically direct you to the latest version available hosted on sendowl.com (our software fulfilment provider).

I’ve missed a few updates… Do I need to go back and install each one?

Don’t worry – regardless of whether you’re upgrading from a much older version, or the previous release, you only need to install the latest update to ensure your Carveco product is up to date. Additionally, your unique SendOwl download link (even from previous emails) will always show you the most recent Carveco update available.
