Rethinking How We Experience the World
Held on 15th September 2025 at the OXO Tower in London, Touch: Beyond Vision was a tactile exhibition designed to explore a simple but powerful question:
What if images could be experienced through touch, not just sight?
For millions of people who are blind or visually impaired, photographs, artwork, and visual culture are often inaccessible. What is a shared experience for many remains out of reach for others.
Through the use of Carveco’s AI-powered technology, images were transformed into detailed tactile reliefs, enabling visitors to experience photographs, landmarks, and artworks through their fingertips.
What began as an exploration of new technology quickly became something more meaningful. Through collaboration with the blind and visually impaired community, educators, and accessibility specialists, the project evolved into an experience focused not just on innovation, but on inclusion.

Technology with Purpose
At its core, Touch: Beyond Vision represents Carveco’s belief that technology should do more than innovate, it should make a difference.
By combining AI with CNC machining and 3D printing, Carveco has developed a way to translate visual information into physical form. This opens up new possibilities not only for individuals, but for educators, museums, and institutions looking to create more inclusive experiences.
The project highlights how accessible design, when considered from the outset, can transform how people engage with the world around them.

A Collective Effort
This recognition reflects the dedication and collaboration of many.
From Carveco’s development team, who built the AI technology, to the creative team who shaped the exhibition with care and empathy, and the workshop team who brought each tactile piece to life, this was a truly collective effort.
Carveco would also like to thank the focus groups, partners, and individuals who contributed their time, insight, and personal stories throughout the project. Their involvement was instrumental in shaping both the direction and impact of the exhibition.
Finally, a sincere thank you to everyone who attended the exhibition in London and helped bring the experience to life.

The Ceremony
Carveco will be attending the 30th Annual Webby Awards ceremony in New York City on May 11th, where winners will be officially recognised. This year’s recipients include global names such as Google, Meta, Netflix, and Apple, alongside creators, innovators, and organisations from across the world.
The team looks forward to celebrating alongside fellow innovators and sharing more from the event in the coming weeks.
